Yesterday, I got sidetracked. Instead of checking out my favorite blogs, I was glued to the news that was happening with Occupy Wall Street.

Like a moth to a flame, I just couldn’t pull myself away.

I was and still amazed at what was happening. Not only in NYC were they protesting to have their voices heard, but they were joined in a day of solidarity from around the country and some countries around the world.

While the people are fed up about what’s happening in this country, I’m still shocked at the silence that the politicians have regarded this movement.

When the tea party came out, some republicans stood on the same side for what they believed in, willing to sell the country out for those beliefs.

Now with the OWS, I haven’t heard any candidate step up and talk about the issues that are raised up–jobs. Lack of jobs. Jobs that’s are going to let our youth pay off their student loans, not be indebted to them for the rest of their lives.

Their silence is deafening.

Maybe I’m an emotional person (okay, I admit that I am), but what I saw, and read yesterday through twitter and live stream, I cried.

It was a beautiful sight. To see so many people come together for a cause that we all believe in, willing to take a stand.

Did you keep yourself updated during the “Day of Action?”

  2. I have to admit I had to find out what the occupy movement was all about. No one could explain it to me. After I found out I was happy that finally we are taking a stand against things that will affect us all.
