Monday Musings & Potty Training
This weekend was pretty slow. Saturday we went to get the car inspected and Sunday it was church and grocery shopping. Unfortunately, the weather turned from wonderful (Saturday) to cold all over again (Sunday). And here I thought, winter was completely gone.
I would LOVE to say that both days Zee didn’t cry not once, but there is always something a child to cry about, right? While waiting for the car to be inspected, a sales lady was trying to up sell me on turning in my car and getting a new one–nice idea, but so not interested.
This poor lady made the mistake of sitting down in the seat next to me–Zee’s seat. At the time, Zee and Mr. C. were outside looking at our car being inspected, until he hears her crying and saying “don’t sit in my seat.” They come back in the waiting area, and the poor lady was ousted out of her seat by Zee (okay, we asked nicely).
For a minute there, Zee didn’t want to forgive the stranger for her transgression, but after leaning on me and “reclaiming” me for herself she finally said she forgave her. It could always be worse right?
Last week, I have begun to potty train Zee, and she’s making okay progress. The first day was both frustrating for her and me because she didn’t want to make the change, but the next day she woke up and told me she had to use the potty. So I think that’s great progress.
It’s only been 4 days, but she’s doing much better than I expected. Only thing is, we have to find her a way to get comfortable doing the “other business” in the potty. But I know, it’s not race. We’ll get there and she’ll be fully potty trained–in time.
How long did it take the whole process for you to potty train your child from start to finish?
