{My Christmas tree lights reflected on the ceiling}
It is officially the last week of Advent, and in a few days, we will be celebrating Christmas.
A truly joyous event! We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, and we share our Joy with our children. I cannot imagine any other place where I want to be right now, except with my family.
We will do the usual on Christmas–go to mass (I would say midnight, but that’s too much to ask of young children) and we will we continue our celebration for the next 12 days.
Most people think of the end of the year as that–The End. But, in truth, there is so so much good will and joy going on, that we want nothing more than to change our situation, do better, bring joy to ourselves like we have done for others.
As we inch our way closer to Christmas, may our hearts open up wider with joy and wonder.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
The time is near for the celebration of Your birth. Please remind us of this feeling of anticipation, and joy all year round.
Let not a moment pass when we don’t keep You in our hearts.
Amen.
It is easy for us to forget what a gift we’ve been given when we’re blinded by what we think are hardships in this life. Thank you for the reminder.
It is refreshing to read about Christmas cheer and truly celebrating the season. Now that my children are groan I find it harder to get in the mood for the holidays…this helps 🙂 Thanks!
Oh geez…would be nice to spell things correctly, lol….I mean grown above…sorry for that.
