First, I can’t believe that we are now in week 26 of the year, and I’m in week 26 of my project 52.  Things didn’t turn out the way that I expected, but that’s okay.  Since Linus is out of commission, I don’t mind sharing places that I have gone to with the family.

Since it is July, that means home school has started for us.  If you haven’t noticed, I’ve not been that active on the web lately (I’m sure you noticed, because you DO care about me *stares at the screen*).  I’ve readied myself with lesson plans, and letters to the Board of Education, and praying to get myself into the homeschooling mood.

Since I’ve felt more nervous this time (cause things just got real) I decided to take a break from what I was doing and take the kids to the Amusement Park.  It’s fun for them and a diversion for me.

Deno’s Wonder Wheel park has been around since I was a little girl, and I’ve been so happy to share it with my children as well.  The story goes, that Deno loved his wife so much, he bought the wonder wheel as a wedding present for her!  Now that’s love.  There had been rumors that it was going close with all the changes that has gone on, but I’m glad that it stayed open.

By looking at the signs, you see we don’t have to wait until the 4th of July to watch fireworks, we can see it every Friday!  It’s a huge treat for the little ones!

Since we are talking about the Wonder Wheel, I have to show pictures of it.  I haven’t been on this wheel since Mr. C and I were dating, I think that it’s time that I take my family on here for a family experience.

Even though the kids wanted to go on more rides (okay, who am I kidding, Zee wanted to) it was the break that was badly needed from all the paper work that I have myself under.

In a way, I’m relieved that we’re homeschooling again, and we are going to bring more structure back to our routine.  This year will be better than last (I feel it in my bones) and since both kids are older, they can enjoy all the field trips that I have planned out for us.

Here’s to another year of homeschooling!

When was the last time you’ve been to Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park in Coney Island?
