Life Through My Lens Thursday- Week 9

Life Through My Lens Thursday Photography Challenge is my take on a Project 52.  I chose one object – Linus – and decided to photograph him using different themes and techniques.  Other times, I’ll make a story out of the photographs that I take.  To see the beginning of my challenge, start here.  *** This week on Life Through My Lens (haha, sounds like a soap opera) I tried my hand at the concept of hidden.  But then I got bored with that for a bit, and decided to have Linus play in my plush rug. This weeks theme: hiding in comfort…   We started off our evening building with some blocks that belongs to my daughter.  Turns out that Linus wanted to make something really tall.  Turns out I did all the building and he did all the watching!     But looks like he grew bored with that.  So instead he wanted to play peek-a-boo, and since I was in a silly mood, I played along too!   Okay Linus, I see you with the blocks.  Are you going to try to build something now? Looking good!  Keep on going.  I wonder what he’s going to build?   Okay Linus I get it, you rather lay down in the rug instead.  Come to think of it, I would rather lay down in the rug instead too!  We’ve had a very busy evening and I’m looking forward to getting some rest! *** Some things that I noticed while taking these pictures for the past 9 weeks: * I have a lot of pink,it’s like I’m surrounded. I need to add some boy...
Life is a Song

Life is a Song

Remeber this quote….   The part that stands out most to me is ‘life is a song.’   Imagine this… Everyone of us has a melody. A tune that represents our life, and no matter which instrument we pick up to play, the only tune that we can play is our own. Some of us bop to the genre of Hip Hop, Rhythm and Blues, Country, Jazz, Funk, it doesn’t matter the genre, because our melody is flexible to encompass all of these musical forms without sacrificing our own originality. This is a bit of how my inner world function. Throughout the years, I’ve noticed that my musical interests has changed—and yet stayed the same. I’ve always been drawn to classical, and music from around the world. I’m amazed at how a simple piece can make me come alive and feel free. Like my Musically Monday choice from yesterday. There were times (when I was much younger and not so sure of myself) I allowed my musical interest to be influenced by those around me. This is how I’ve come to like R&B, Rap, some Heavy Metal, and Country.   However, no matter how many times I can open my ears to something new, I find that I always come back to my same interest.   As if there is an invisible string that pulls me along to a genre and a melody that my heart loves—the only melody that my body wants to hear because it is the most freeing to me. I’ve fought this before—actually many times. I fought with the inner world, and my external world....

Life Though My Lens Thursday — Week 8

Life Through My Lens Thursday Photography Challenge is my take on a Project 52.  I chose one object – Linus – and decided to photograph him using different themes and techniques.  Other times, I’ll make a story out of the photographs that I take.  To see the beginning of my challenge, start here.     It’s the end of the week, and finally I got a moment to blog!  Hahaha, actually, I didn’t mind my time off from blogging.  It gave me a great moment to be present for my Grandmother’s Birthday, my wedding Anniversary, and yesterday was my little girl’s birthday! I can’t believe that Zee turned 5!  We had a great day yesterday, and I made sure that Linus was able to join in the fun as well! Now on with the photos! *** First thing early in the morning, I baked Zee’s cake, and everyone was itching to start the party.   Linus was getting bored waiting, so I figured, why not play a game with him!   We pretended to be butterflies, and that helped pass the time.  Before we knew it, it was time to cut the cake!   Of course I couldn’t have a picture of outside of the cake without the inside of the cake!  Tried my hand to make it colorful, but looks like I need more practice on this 🙂   I know one little guy who just dug right into the cake.  Is it good Linus?   Yes, he’s enjoying it.  Just look at that smile on his face!  Glad you liked it Linus!   Looks like someone is tired after eating all...
Life Through My Lens Thursday — Week 7

Life Through My Lens Thursday — Week 7

Life Through My Lens Thursday Photography Challenge is my take on a Project 52.  I chose one object – Linus – and decided to photograph him using different themes and techniques.  Other times, I’ll make a story out of the photographs that I take.  To see the beginning of my challenge, start here.   I woke up early this morning, and found Linus staring out of the window.  Thinking.     Was he thinking about Spring, or warm weather?  Was he thinking about the sun rising this morning?   What ever he was thinking about, I enjoyed watching the sun come up with him. This week, I wanted to work on Silhouette.  For these shots I woke up early in the morning and captured the light with Linus in the background. My favorite one is the second picture.  Which picture do you like, the blurred background and foreground? Or just the Linus...

Life Through My Lens — Love Edition

So not sure if you noticed, but I have this love theme going on this week on my blog–hahaha, not that it wasn’t obvious 🙂 This week, Linus discovers something special in his mailbox.  I wonder what it is? I told Linus that tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and I got him something special. But the mailbox is a big dark place for this little guy.  Come to think of it…I would be scared too if the mailbox was bigger than me!  Go on Linus, don’t be scared, I’ll be right here! Ah, I think he found what I put in there for him.  I wonder if he likes it? *Crosses fingers* Yes he did!  I gave him my heart 🙂 Happy Valentine’s Day Linus! Tomorrow is the big day, and I hope everyone is as happy as I am! {As today is Thursday, I also gave thanks to the little things around me.  Please join me over at Empowerment Moments Blog for a Gratitude and Thankful Thursday message.} Stay warm everyone!...
Winter Storm Maximus and Linus

Winter Storm Maximus and Linus

{This post was originally published in }   We had a crazy week!  We were hit with two snow storms in the same week–Maximus and Nola.  Whew! As you know, I don’t mind the snow, since it’s a great time to workout while shoveling, but this time I took Linus with me on my outside adventure. Immediately, he threw himself into the snow!     Linus quickly tried to stand up, but found out quickly that he was in over his head!     I told him not to worry, and I got him out right away.  Even though he didn’t have a jacket on, he threw himself into his work.       Like any child, he was proud of his work, and didn’t mind posing for me.  Thank you Linus for the photo!     I really don’t know how much snow we’re going to get by the end of winter, but I’ll take what I can get for now.  Soon it will be hot, and I’ll be wishing for winter (well…maybe fall) again. As for Linus, I’m not sure what I enjoy more, hiding him and taking pictures of him doing different things, or making up a story with him.  Who knows!  I guess it depends on where the wind takes me. How about you, did Maximus blow your way?  How about Nola?  And what’s up with naming these storms?  Share your thoughts about the pictures or the weather below! Until next...
