The Holidays are officially among us (yes, please pray for us).
While we are shopping for that perfect gift for our little one, or hubby, or boyfriend or anyone, let us not forget that there are others out there who are trying to do the same thing.
Usually during the holidays when we are trying to spread good cheer and good will, all that usually stops when we walk through the door to the shopping stores and find that there is only one Hello Kitty doll left: then it’s every woman / man for themselves.
Even though there are some of us who can afford to have that “perfect” Christmas, let us not forget those who do not have the means to.
Let us be mindful to donate toys to children who’s parents cannot afford them, food to the food banks, and clothes to families and people in need.
I know it seems like it’s something that I’m asking for now, because most of my favorite radio stations are playing Christmas music, but it’s something that we should be thinking of all the time.
Please help us to not forget that.
Holidays are more than great gifts, its the perfect time to try and do something nice for a stranger.
Please help me be an instrument of this good will.
Amen.
Amen to that! I completely agree. Holidays can be extremely difficult on those going through hard times, and we should (all) be very mindful of that. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome Nellie! I will pray for us all during this holiday season, be it family, shopping, or whatever, Lord knows we’re going to need it.
Good prayer, seems like you hear a lot of peoples haveing missfortune around this time from the simple fact peoples think they have to lose they cool when its only one of whatever they want or they child ask for. Its good to be able to help others who or need for whatever reason. God Bless U:)
The sad part is, is that these people have had misfortune the whole year, it’s like we only pay attention during this time of year. I hope that all families can find some kind of solace. It’s hard already, but I know it’s harder when you have kids.
Amen! It is so important to remember the reason for the season. I know we get so caught up in the gifts we forget.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Latorsha. I think this is the only time of year when we do end up remembering. Let’s hope that these feelings carry over to the new year and beyond. Families in need now were the same ones who will be in need come January.
This is a beautiful prayer, one that we all need to recite this holiday season.
