I have heard the phrase, ” Life is what you make of it” countless times. In fact so many times that I am not really sure if Eleanor Roosevelt was the first one to say it.
But since that I have matured (and aged)–I can understand it and see the truth in the words. Life simply is what we make of it. Each decision we make–good or bad–shapes our lives.
This phrase is far from working hard and getting what you dreamed of. There are countless times when a person strives hard, but it just wasn’t their time for their dreams to come true. That doesn’t mean that they failed, just mean that it wasn’t their time yet.
I really think this phrase has a lot to do with HOW that person reacts to not reaching their goals and how happy are they with all the decisions that they made so far.
Everyday it’s usually hard for us to keep a positive outlook when we are experiencing life. Let’s face it, there are just things that will just get us down. But I love this phrase, because things may get us down, but that doesn’t mean it has to keep us down.
Among all the things that we have remember, and go through, I hope this is one thing that we won’t forget:
Life truly is what you make of it.
How true this post is! Life is truly what we make of it. If we put nothing into it, we get nothing out of it. If we walk though life with a positive attitude and a smile, we get in return. 🙂
So true! And that thought is power, isn’t it? I think it’s easy to get caught up in rejections and disappointments that we miss the bigger picture– that beautiful picture is that so long as we are living, we can still make something of ourselves, of our lives.
You’ve actually made me look at this phrase differently. I don’t know that I’d given it much thought before. Life truly is what we make of it. How we handle the good and bad of it really shapes what our lives become. There’s power in just knowing that.
This is so true, when we think our dreams are far of reach we become miserable but if we look at each phase of our life we can be more positive. Thoughtful post
Life is truly what we make it. I need that reminder all the time. It’s hard when you are down in the trenches and life doesn’t seem to be going how you want it to. But this is a good phrase to keep in mind!
I totally agree! Sometimes we overact over things that don’t matter. I must admit this is something I have worked on over the years and still a work in progress. You really do have to pick your battles.
That phrase is so so true. I strongly believe that the harder the work you put in, the bigger your reward!
True InDeed!
