Life Through My Lens Thursday Photography Challenge is my take on a Project 52. I chose one object – Linus – and decided to photograph him using different themes and techniques. Other times, I’ll make a story out of the photographs that I take. To see the beginning of my challenge, start here.

This week on Life Through My Lens (haha, sounds like a soap opera) I tried my hand at the concept of hidden. But then I got bored with that for a bit, and decided to have Linus play in my plush rug.
This weeks theme: hiding in comfort…
We started off our evening building with some blocks that belongs to my daughter. Turns out that Linus wanted to make something really tall. Turns out I did all the building and he did all the watching!
But looks like he grew bored with that. So instead he wanted to play peek-a-boo, and since I was in a silly mood, I played along too!
Okay Linus, I see you with the blocks. Are you going to try to build something now?
Looking good! Keep on going. I wonder what he’s going to build?
Okay Linus I get it, you rather lay down in the rug instead.
Come to think of it, I would rather lay down in the rug instead too! We’ve had a very busy evening and I’m looking forward to getting some rest!

Some things that I noticed while taking these pictures for the past 9 weeks:
* I have a lot of pink,it’s like I’m surrounded. I need to add some boy colors in here stat (read that as–any other color other than pink hahaha).
* I love taking pictures of Linus, but it looks like I have to travel with him to get some other kind of shots. A lot of these photos are taken at home (nothing wrong with that since that’s where I work (get it, stay at home mom..okay…I’ll stop), but I am looking forward to taking him out.
* While I have a few more things I want to try. I have a lot more “games” I rather do with him instead. I have a lovely castle that I’m excited to take his picture on. I don’t know how, but looks like my photography challenge has turned into story book photography challenge. I may want to break up the two…we’ll see.
* I really love the playfulness of this character, and if you haven’t guessed I’m a playful person! (My writing sometimes may make you think otherwise) Over time, I may be adding more photos, since sometimes I feel like I’m better “understood” with them.
Any who, what do you think about any or all of the above observations? Would you be interested in seeing Linus in his own “series” and me really do a Life Through My Lens Thursday, where I take pictures of the glamorous part of my life (hahaha, I don’t know about glamorous)?
Let me know in the comments below!
Linus has always been my favorite. Really enjoyed these pics. 🙂
Thank you! I’m trying to stretch myself, and I think it’s time I take him out, but weather has to get better–he doesn’t have a jacket hahaha!
Looking at these posts always makes me want to learn more about photography because it makes me think about how much more I would be able to see and understand about different angles and lighting. I agree with you about taking him to different locations. Perhaps that could be a different theme each week 🙂 Maybe he will find himself in your back yard next week! 🙂
I really love photography and how it’s so easy to express yourself with it. These shots were actually taken in the evening when the sun was going down. I had to up the exposure on my camera to get a brighter look to it in order to get the look that I want. You are so right though, taking on a photography challenge has helped me a lot understand how the camera works and handles pictures. I’m looking forward to taking him out, but not with my big girl camera (not at least until the weather gets better). Thank you for your input! 🙂
AWW Kalley I just love these pics!! They are too cute plus your use of aperture was on point!
I’d like to see your glamorous life on display, as much as I’m enjoying Linus and his antics in front of the camera, Kalley!
I love this series. You should check out Melissa Gibson’s toy project. http://www.melissagibsonphotography.com/category/the-toy-project/
